The company recently hosted a grand opening ceremony for the new FK Medical – Sovereign Djibouti Medical Services Clinic in Djibouti. The guest of honor was His Excellency Qasem Ishaq Othman, Minister of Health, was received by the SDMS Clinic Managing Director, Ms. Felicitas von Moeller. Mr. Earl Gibbs (CEO, Gryphon Air LLC) and Mr. James E. Johnson (Director, FK Logistic of Kuwait), the Joint Venture partner company, SDMS medical staff and several well-known local personalities.
The opening ceremony of the clinic was covered by major local news and television media.
The Minister of Health received a complete tour of the clinic. The Minister expressed his interest regarding the need for FK Medical – SDMS to assure equity in hiring local nationals for medical-related positions as and expressed his belief that the clinic will be a key facility in his quest for improving medical services in Djibouti. The Minister said that the clinic will provide Djiboutian citizens and foreigners alike; and, that such projects should decrease the need for citizens to travel outside Djibouti to receive needed medical services. He also added, “we will always look for taking advantage of the other’s experiences and the rare specialties in this advanced clinic…. His final remark was that the SDMS facility is the first of its kind in Djibouti Clinic Services.
The clinic offers a broad range of primary and specialty care services that include:
- On-site Pharmacy, consisting of approximately 650+ line items, both brand named and generic pharmaceuticals
- Fully-equipped, modern laboratory
- Extensive diagnostic services (digital radiography, ECG, Ultrasonography, Audiometry, etc.)
- Fully-furnished modern dentistry staffed with a Dental Surgeon, Dental Assistant, and Dental Hygienist
- Medical Doctors on Staff: Cardiologist / Internist, General Practitioners
The facility has a three (3) in-patient bed care unit.
